Wrap-Up: January 2016

Hello, bookish friends!

So, I read a total of 14 books this month. That is unreal. I am quite proud of myself.

Reading my pile of Rainbow Rowell books was a really nice treat. I don’t think I could dislike anything she writes. Not to mention, Fangirl has made it into my all-time favourites, so that is quite a feat.

By far, my favourite read of this month was The Infernal Devices trilogy. It was so good. To give you an idea of how obsessed I now am with the Shadow World, let’s just say that I’m considering getting actual runes tattooed on me. Yes, it will probably happen. I’m looking forward to reading The Mortal Instruments series next month! I’m sure it will be just as good, if not better, than its prequel trilogy.

In any case, here are this month’s reads categorized by their star ratings:

★★★★★ (5 stars):

Wonder by R.J. Palacio
All the Bright Places by Jennifer Niven
The Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger
I’ll Give You the Sun by Jandy Nelson
Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell

★★★★ 1/2 (4.5 stars):

Attachments by Rainbow Rowell
Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare
Clockwork Prince by Cassandra Clare
Clockwork Princess by Cassandra Clare

★★★★ (4 stars):

The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian by Sherman Alexie
Carry On by Rainbow Rowell

★★★ 1/2 (3.5 stars):

Me and Earl and the Dying Girl by Jesse Andrews
The Beginning of Everything by Robyn Schneider
Landline by Rainbow Rowell

That’s all, folks!

Until next time (basically the end of next month), take care.

Love always,

Layla
